This all-inclusive training program is taught by one of this country’s most prominent board certified permanent cosmetic professionals, and state certified teachers, MELANY WHITNEY, C.P.M.P.,F.A.A.M.
Taught at the pristine campus of The Florida College of Natural Health, our course is part of the prestigious Steiner Education Group. Students will initially learn the fundamentals from business start-ups with a focus on marketing skills. This is followed by understanding facial morphology, artistic design with color theory, and proper implantation techniques. Graduation from this intensive, hands-on, beginner class provides comfort and proficiency in Micropigmentation. Graduates will be well on their way, to a lucrative and fulfilling career in the growing permanent cosmetic field.
This course is taught at the North Fort Lauderdale campus, in Southeast Florida, with reasonable and convenient deluxe accommodations near by and inclusive car service to and from the campus each day, making it the perfect location for out-of-state attendees.
Over the course of 5 intensive days, students will receive all standardized forms approved by The Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals (SPCP), such as the Confidential Medical Questionnaire, Pre/Post Procedure Care Instructions, and the all important- Informed Consent Forms, plus a list of Melany’s recommended suppliers. Our 300 plus page manual provides a lifetime reference guide.
Melany helps to transform the novice into a professional, skilled and knowledgeable practitioner. No previous skills or education required!
Classes are limited to a maximum of 5 students per session with one facilitator on hand at all times. There is NEVER any substitution of instructors. You WILL be trained by Melany herself.
Although you will be introduced to other implanting devices, Melany only teaches on the 10 wrap coil machine, which is included in the course. Why a coil? Our philosophy is that if you can learn on the most challenging of machines, you can then use any machine. The coil has been the tool of choice for the professional tattooist for over 150 years. Why pay for expensive equipment when the original still performs best! It is also easy and inexpensive to use with the ability for the technician to easily repair if ever!
Included with your machine are the clip cord, foot pedal, very conveniently sized power pack, and silver aluminum professional carrying case packed with all sorts of “goodies,” pigments and supplies. This is the SAME equipment that Melany uses every day at her medical offices.
Course Topics:
- HISTORY of Permanent Makeup including tribal, religious, and ancient theories.
- BUSINESS SET UP, “legal ins and outs” of establishing yourself, INSURANCE info, basic marketing with a “fixed budget” and advertising techniques, your state’s legal requirements/ regulations, and becoming that very “independent contractor.”
- SKIN ANATOMY, diseases/disorders* of the skin, scar tissue and allergies.
- STANDARD PRECAUTIONS, OSHA Blood Borne Pathogens Manual and review. Protecting yourself and your client-“what you don’t know can kill you!” Correct sterilization and sanitation protocols.
- FACIAL MORPHOLOGY-correct positioning and shaping of brows, lips, and eyeliner. No more “surprised looks” or “downtown eyeliners.”
- COLOR THEORY made VERY simple. Never create “purple brows” or “blue” lips! The truth about pigments, pigment mixing and blending, to get just what you and your client desire.
- The “all inclusive” CLIENT FORMS and medical history. What and what-not to ask and look for during that “telling” consultation.
- Before and after PHOTOS & ALBUMS. Are they “ready for their close-up?”
- MACHINE THEORY: rotary, soft tap manual method, digital, coil-you decide!
- NEEDLES - all shapes and sizes with their construction and function explained. Discover which ones to use to make your “artwork perfect” while testing them out on practice pads and skin.
- Set-up and break down of your “STATION.” Making it convenient and safe for all.
- It pains me not! How to successfully ANESTHETIZE your client.
- OBSERVATION of Melany performing brows, eyeliner enhancement, lips liners with shade-down, to help re-enforce what you have learned and practiced on face masks and pig skin.
- Master your craft on the “real thing!” LIVE MODELS provided for our trainees. You will complete at least 2 brows, 2 lips* and 2 eyeliners* before classes end, entirely on-your-own (under Melany’s watchful eyes-of course!)
- TESTING, course evaluation, Q. & A. Graduation with OFFICIAL CERTIFICATE for beginner 60 hour course completion.
